Tourism Management
History
The Tourism Faculty was established with the decision of the Council of Ministers no. Tourism Management, Tourism Management, Tourism Guidance, Gastronomy and Culinary Arts, Recreation Management departments are located. In the academic year of 2015-2016, the Department of Tourism Management will start student recruitment.
As of 2014-2015 academic year, our faculty has 12 faculty members consisting of 1 Professor, 2 Associate Professor, 1 Assistant Professors, 3 Research Assistants Doctor, 2 Instructors and 2 Research Assistants.
Programme Profile
Tourism education involves giving students the necessary knowledge and competencies to manage tourism establisments that are being operated in a competitive environment. Considering the tourism event in terms of accommodation, food and beverage, travel businesses and similar organizations, a common field of study is emerging with the science of maagement. Subjects ranging from investment decisions and evaluation of projects in the field of tourism to the establishment, organization, management of tourism enterprises, financing, marketing and personnel management, constitute the field of study of the tourism management discipline.
The main purpose of the tourism management department is to train qualified personnel for the tourism sector. The department is an undergraduate program consisting of four-year education, covering tourism and management courses. The title of the students who have successfully completed their undergraduate education is "Tourism Business Manager".
The courses in the department are based on travel, accommodation and transportation industry. Due to the relationship of tourism discipline with other disciplines, courses in marketing, management organization, finance, economics and sociology are given in the department.
